Yolanda Lenora Larsosa, 49, gained her wings on Friday, May 26, 2023. She was born January 22, 1974, at Amherst Hospital in Amherst, Ohio, and had been a lifelong resident of Lorain, Ohio.
Yolanda, affectionately called ‘YoYo’ or ‘Yo’, graduated from Lorain High School and attended The University of Akron. She graduated with an Associate's degree as a licensed Registered Medical Assistant and worked for the Cleveland Clinic for over 10 years. Her patients and doctors loved her and she loved them.
Yolanda was a born athlete. She played volleyball, basketball, and softball in high school. She also received many awards, both academically and athletically. She loved watching sports, and was a diehard Cleveland fan. Yalonda loved life. She was a daughter, mother, sister, auntie, and friend.
Yolanda loved different fragrances and her favorite scent was vanilla lace. She had a big heart and she loved her family and her family loved her. Even though she was the youngest of her siblings, she had an old soul. Yolanda’s heartbeat was her son Gabreil Michael. From the time he was born, he was her everything. She was always so proud of him and all of his accomplishments, and was his #1 fan.
Yolanda was preceded in death by two brothers, Shawn Nixon and Michael Nixon.
Yolanda is survived by her son Gabreil Michael, parents Johnny and Merial Larsosa, sisters Sonja Nixon, Carla Windham, Bronneta (Adrian) Beasely, and Consuela Williams, and brother Wesley (Lisa) Nixon, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A viewing will be Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 1PM. until time of Homegoing Service at 2PM. at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 3880 Dayton Ave, Lorain 44052. Burial will be Monday, June 5th, at 11AM in Elmwood Cemetery.
