Willie “Bea” Estes-Jones

Willie “Bea” Estes-Jones, of Elyria, transitioned from this earthly life on Sunday January 16, 2022, at UH Elyria Medical Center.

She was born January 19, 1930, in Ripley, Tennessee. She came to Elyria, Ohio at the age of 14 to live with her oldest brother, Henry Estes, to begin a new way of life. She worked hard at different jobs, providing for her two children. She was a former retired worker of Cole Johns Contractors at NASA in Cleveland, Ohio.

On July 17, 1971, she devoted her life to Christ at Greater Christ Temple Church, under the leadership of the Late Elder Jessie L. Matthews. She was a faithful servant of the Lord. Her passion was to witness to others and to spread God’s word. She served as Church Mother, Sunday School Teacher, Alter Worker and served in other areas of the church. She remained faithful to Greater Christ Temple until she was unable to attend due to her illness. She also enjoyed shopping, writing poetry, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three children, Valerie (Billie) Eisom, Elyria OH, Dexter (Fay) Estes, Louisville KY and Willie James Jones, Elyria OH; seven grandchildren, Eric R (Tameka) Eisom Sr., Dyersburg TN, Yolanda Eisom, Elyria OH, Domanique Bohannon, Elyria OH, Shatika ( Archie Bobby) Hunter, Lawrenceville GA, Derrick Bohannon, North Ridgeville OH, Dexter A. Estes, Orlando FL and TyLaina Estes, Kissimmee FL; 30 great grandchildren and15 great-great grandchildren; an honorary grandson, Tevin Donaldson; a sister-in-law, Mary Ware, San Diego CA; a host of nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Ms. Louise Caldwell, Decatur IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Willie J. Jones, her father Cary Estes and mother Mattie Gailes-Estes; two brothers, Henry M. Estes and James H. Estes, and two great-great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 10AM until time of funeral service at 11AM at City of Deliverance Church, 1897 E. 30th St, Lorain OH 44055. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required.
