William Edward Kendricks, 57, of Streetsboro, Ohio, formerly of Lorain, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic-Main Campus, following a lengthy illness.
He was born January 31, 1967, in Bay Village, Ohio. He spent most of his life in Lorain, Ohio, where he graduated from Lorain High School in 1985. Following graduating from high school, he attended the University of Toledo, Ohio, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering in 1990.
After William received his degree in engineering, a whole new world of opportunities opened for him to work throughout the United States. He began his career at the Ford Motor Company in Lorain, and then went on to work for the York International Corporation in Elyria. After working for York International, where he got his bearings in engineering, it opened more opportunities for him to work in management for companies such as the Easton Corporation in Illinois, the United Technology Company in Indiana, Mitsubishi Power Systems of America Incorporated in Florida, the Oil-Dri Corporation of America in Georgia, Detroit Chassis LLC in Avon, and was formerly the Senior Manager of the Quality Assurance Machine Division for the Lincoln Electric Company in Cleveland.
William had an extensive work history and many certificates in the engineering field that recognized his outstanding achievements and making an impact in the industrial engineering field.
He enjoyed reading, traveling, and shooting pool.
William will be sadly missed by his father, Clinton W. Kendricks Jr., of Lorain; his companion, Barbra Martin; three uncles, John R. (Kimberly) Kendricks, Walter J. Kendricks, and Benjamin (Josephine) Thompson; an aunt, Minnie Jackson; and many cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Kendricks (née Thompson); paternal grandparents, Rev. C. W. Kendricks and Emma L. Kendricks; and maternal grandparents, Eddie and Lucy Thompson.
A visitation hour will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1516 E. 30th St., Lorain Ohio 44055, where Pastor Shirley Howard will be officiating. The burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
