William C. “Bill” Shorts II, 72, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, passed away December 15, 2022 at University Hospital of Cleveland after a sudden illness. Bill was born October 22, 1950 in Lorain Ohio to William “Bo” and Eunice Shorts. He was employed and retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years. “Bill”, to all who knew him, was a unique and loving individual who touched the lives of everyone he met.
He married Mary A. Byron in 1985 and raised 5 children. He was totally dedicated to his children in all aspects of their lives. Bill touched the lives of numerous children. Not only did he raise his own children but helped raise nieces and nephews that needed guidance. He was also a loving mentor to several adolescent young men.
Bill LOVED LIFE to the fullest and embodied a wide variety of activities from RC cars and planes, with the boys when they were little, to baseball, archery, fishing, hunting, boating, to riding his precious Harley. He belonged to Hog Chapter-Sandusky/Rockin Roll, as well as the Wellington Eagle Riders. He enjoyed putting smiles on the faces of others while giving a helping hand.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Shorts, his parents, William Shorts Sr. and Eunice Shorts, one sister, Karen Green and one brother, Jeffery Shorts.
He leaves to cherish his memory his 5 children, William “Billy” (Brian) Shorts, Macceo
(Heidi) Shorts, Michael (Trinese) Green, James “JD” (Brandi) Byron, and Joslyn Byron. Bill has 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and a host nieces and nephews.
Bill’s Celebration of Life Services will be Thursday, December 22 at New Life Deliverance Ministries, 400 Washington Ave. Lorain, Ohio 44052. Visitation will be from 4pm until time of celebration service at 5pm with Bishop Jessie C. Berry Jr. officiating.
