Walter Williamson, 73, of Sandusky, passed away quietly on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at his residence. He was born September 1, 1948 to Cressie McDonald-McConn and Slater Williamson in Waynesboro, Mississippi. Walter began his education in Waynesboro but due to a disabling condition that caused his blindness, his life was given a different path. In the late 1960s, when his cousin Gladys McDonald-Henson and family were vacationing in Mississippi, they extended the opportunity to him to start his next journey in life in Sandusky, Ohio. Upon arriving in Sandusky, Walter began to work with Papa McDonald on his truck. Shortly thereafter he began to work at Goodwill. Later, he enrolled at Betty Jane Career Center for the Blind in Tiffin, Ohio, and went on to attend Ohio State School for the Blind in Columbus, Ohio where he acquired all skills necessary to be the independent person he became. He worked at Providence Hospital in the X-ray department for over 20 years. Walter is survived by his 3 sisters, Rose Everett of Waynesboro, Mississippi, Hattie Harris, of Romulus, Michigan, and Barbara (Cleo) Koen of Frankville, Alabama. He is also survived by his many McDonald cousins, nieces, nephews and his special friend Kenny Gambrell. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Ermie Lancaster and Sadie Bradley, and brother Eddie McDonald. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 Noon at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1920 Eddy Henry Way, Sandusky, OH 44870. The Rev. Curtis L.
