Walter Smith, Jr.

Walter Smith, Jr., age 67, of Ashland, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 26, 2022. He was born February 24, 1955 in Lorain, Ohio and graduated from Southview High School. He attended SeedNet Grace Ranch Church in Ashland, Ohio.

Walter enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and spending time with his family.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Earlana "Lanie" Smith; his children, Roslyn and Rachel Witherspoon, Christopher Lee, Janel Richardson, Walter Smith lll, Britney Woods, Anthony Smith, Jasmine Smith; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; three brothers, Carlos Atkinson, Alan Smith, Richard Smith; three sisters, Carmen Rivera, Carlotta West, and Kelly (King) Zubaidah; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Smith Sr. and Sherry Smith (nee Atkinson); two sisters, Kimberly Smith and Bobbi Smith; a nephew, Jason Smith; a stepdaughter, Kayla Osterland; his maternal grandparents, Clarence Atkinson and Thelma Bonilla and his paternal grandparents, Walter Smith and Fannie Mae Smith.

A viewing will be held Friday June 3, 2022 from 12pm until time of funeral service at 1pm at A New and Living Way Ministries, 1510 Cooper Foster Park Rd, Lorain, Ohio 44053.
