Venita M Phillips

Venita Marie Phillips, 66, of Elyria, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at UH Elyria Medical Center. She was born in Lorain, Ohio on October 28, 1956 and lived in Lorain County all of her life. She graduated from Elyria West High School in 1976 and years later retired in 2019 from Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio where she worked in the patient heart monitor room. She attended House of Praise International Church in Lorain. Venita enjoyed sewing, gardening, making jewelry and doing arts and crafts. She will be sadly missed by her sons, Steven (Regan) Phillips and Michael (Naji) McCall; her daughter, Serah Gilchrist; five grandchildren, Steven D. M. Phillips, Miles McCall, Ellis McCall, Angel Campbell and Cameron Chapman; two great grandchildren, Amina Phillips and Amari Phillips; a brother, Hermon (Betty) Phillips, and two sisters, Linda (Philip) Bush and Bernadette (Lavon) Jackson. Venita was preceded in death by her parents, John and Wilhelmina Phillips, a brother, Victor Phillips, and paternal and maternal grandparents. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 11am until time of service at 12 noon at the House of Praise International Church, 4321 Elyria Ave, Lorain OH 44055. Pastor Gilbert Silva is officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
