Tanya Vernadine Shumpert

Tanya Vernadine Shumpert, 70, of Lorain, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, following a sudden illness, in Cleveland Clinic Hospital.

Tanya was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania on May 1,1953 and had been a resident of Lorain, Ohio for 69 years. She graduated from Southview High School. She worked as a nurse’s aide in various nursing homes, and was also a bus driver for the Lorain County School System.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing bingo, and spending time with her family.

Tanya leaves to cherish her memory her son, Erick D. Williams; one granddaughter, Diane Davis; two sisters, Sharon Swidecki and Deborah Williams; two brothers, Manzie L. Williams Jr. and Dean Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Tanya was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Shumpert; her parents, Manzie Lee Williams Sr. and Gloria Angeline Paige; and four brothers.
