Sherry Ruth Walker Taylor was born September 30, 1973, in Elyria, Ohio, to Lula Schneider (Walker) and John Bias. She was one of five siblings: Shawn Walker, Penny Opdyke, Amber Opdyke, and Jesse Schneider. She attended the Elyria City School District (ECSD) and graduated from Elyria High School in Elyria, OH.
Sherry held various jobs. She worked as a Direct Support Professional for many years working with adults with autism, and as a Customer Service Professional. She also worked as an Uber driver, making sure people got to and from where they needed to go. Driving was her passion, she lived to drive.
She married Johnathan Carter (deceased) with whom she gave birth to her three children, Nyesha, Jonathan, and Joseph. She was kind, caring and loved her children and her family, especially her grandchildren. Family meant everything to her. She then went on to marry the love of her life, Carl Nathaniel Taylor.
Sherry loved playing the lottery! Gosh forbid she missed playing her numbers! Sherry was a master at them, and always winning. She also enjoyed going to bingo with her sister Penny. Wherever there was a gamble, she was there and always lucky.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Nyesha Charmae' Carter, mother Lula Joyce Schneider (Walker), and her father John Edward Bias, her grandmother Sibyl Walker (Williams), and her grandfather Jesse Walker.
Sherry leaves behind her husband, Carl Nathaniel Taylor; her two sons, Jonathan and Joseph Carter; her four grandchildren, Nalyla, Natalie, Naomi, and Nysir; her siblings, Shawn Walker, Penny Opdyke, Amber Opdyke, and Jesse Schneider; her mother-in-law, Stella Taylor; her aunts Peggy, Linda, and Jane; uncles Noel, and Steve who she loved very much; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Sherry’s best friend was Paula Dawn Burgess (Gunter), they were more like sisters than best friends. She really loved Paula, along with other family and friends.
Sherry will be dearly missed.
