Sharon Kaye Taylor, 79, of Elyria, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born May 17, 1944 in Barbourville, Kentucky and had lived in Elyria since 1959.
Sharon retired from Ridge Tool after over 28 years of service. She was a faithful member of Original Glorious Church of the Apostolic Faith, of Elyria, where she served on the Usher Board and kitchen committee, and sang in the women’s choir. She visited the sick and shut-in and worked with the Interfaith hot meal program through Saint Andrews in Elyria.
She enjoyed bowling, playing softball, fishing, and traveling.
Sharon will be sadly missed by her daughter, Monica Taylor, of Columbus; five grandchildren, Brittany Ulmer, Brian Taylor, Branson Taylor, Morgan Ulmer, and Spencer Roule, and one great granddaughter, Mia Ulmer; four sisters, Pastor Doris (Jimmy) Williams, Daisy Ross, Brenda Blair Ross, and Linda Smith (Apostle Sammy C. Smith), and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Taylor; her son, Brian R Taylor; parents, Jess Ross and Ethel Ross (née Jones); four brothers, Evan Cloud, Chester Ross, William H. Ross, and Tommy Ross; three sisters, Jesse Washington, Dorothy B. Logan, Anna and Lois Fitzpatrick.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 Noon at Original Glorious Church of the Apostolic Faith, 995 Foster Ave, Elyria. Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 27, at Brookdale Cemetery.
