Robert "Bobby Lee" Stacey

Robert “Bobby Lee” Stacey was born on May 9, 1945, to the late Allen and Lucy Lee Stacey in Ochlocknee, Georgia. He came to Elyria, Ohio at a young age. He resided in Lorain, Ohio and was under the care of Mercy Health New Life Hospice at the time of his death.  

He was a 1964 graduate of Midview High School in Grafton, Ohio where he excelled in football, basketball and track. He attended Santa Barbara City College in Santa Barbara, California and was drafted into the United States Army, serving tour of duty in Vietnam and Korea; receiving the Purple Heart during his time served.  

Robert, affectionately known to most as “Bobby Lee”, was smart, witty, and had a smile that would light up a room. He was never short on conversation and relished any moment to make you laugh with his “stories.”  

He went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2025, after a brief Illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Lucy Stacey, siblings Odessa, Charles, and Allen Jr, and niece Vicki Stacey Steele.  

Bobby Lee leaves to cherish his memory: siblings Albert Stacey Sr. (Faye), Marsha Stacey Walton, and Alonzo Stacey (Angela); sisters-in-law Jean Ann Stacey and Aretter Louise Stacey; daughters Stephanie Gonzalez (Jonathan), Kaylee Stacey, Omylya Price, and Charlene Philon (Desmond); sons, Bobby Lee Stacey (Angela), Alex Stacey, and Anthony Stacey; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.  

A private family viewing and celebration service will be held at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home & Celebration Center. 

His final committal and interment with military honors will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville Ohio 44273.
