Rachel Davis

Rachel Davis, 89, of Lorain, passed away at home Wednesday, January 24, 2024. She was born in Riley, North Carolina, August 9, 1934, and had been a resident of Lorain for over 60 years. 

Rachel was known for being a caregiver in the community. She was a compassionate and caring person who allowed many people with disabilities to stay in her home. 

Rachel will be missed by her two sons, Cornell Thompson, and Gary Thompson; her stepchildren, Marlene Jackson, Anthony Davis, Earl Davis, and Rueben Davis; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Davis; her parents, Arthur Hicks Sr. and Mabel Goosby; two daughters, Cecilia Auston and Marsha Thompson, and son Hubert G Thompson; a brother, Author Hicks Jr., and two sisters, Louise Frisby and Harriet Bagby. 

A viewing will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 11AM until time of her service at 12PM at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 3900 Clifton Ave, Lorain OH 44055.
