Norma J. "Chick" (Jackson) Henderson

Norma J. "Chick" (Jackson) Henderson, 71, died Sunday, March 26, 2023 at her home in Jonesboro, GA. She was born in Big Stone Gap, VA on December 5, 1951 to Mary and Amos Jackson. Her mother moved the family to Oberlin, Ohio in the early 1950's to be close to family after her husband Amos was killed in an automobile accident.  Norma graduated from Oberlin High School in 1972 where she was a cheerleader. She moved to Lorain after she married her former husband, Gary Henderson. They had two children, Monica A. Henderson and Martin L. Henderson. Norma worked for Lorain Products until they closed. She then moved to Atlanta, GA where she got a job at DeVry University. She retired from DeVry University in 2013.  She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, traveling, playing cards, going to casinos, and spending time with her family. Norma was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Linda. She is survived by her children, her life partner for over 20 years, Eugene Wilson, and two sisters, Eddie Dean and Margaret Jane. Visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 10AM until time of service at 11AM at Living Word Church, 2002 E. 28th St., Lorain. Burial will be Monday, April 10th at 10AM at Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin.
