Michael Louis Payton

Michael Louis Payton, 63, of Sandusky, passed away Monday August 16, 2021, at Providence Care Center, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Michael was born April 25, 1957 in Sandusky, has lived in Slidell, LA and Cincinnati, OH. Michael was a natural with his hands spending majority of his life working in the construction field and numerous plants between Sandusky and Louisiana. His biggest joy was spending time with family and friends, cooking, entertaining and keeping a smile on everyone’s face. Michael will be truly and sadly missed by his wife, Crystal Payton; sons, Mazi (Marquisa) Nickelson, of Boston, Mass , Michael Louis Gibson/Payton Jr, Martinez Louis Payton, both of Cincinnati; stepdaughter, Tenisha Fiske and Geovanna Jones (Eric) of Sandusky; brothers, Greg L. and James L. (Tracie) Payton; nephews, Kory, Darius (Lexi) and James Brown; grandchildren, K’leona Nickelson, twins Michael and Ma’kylah Gibson, Demetrius, Demylah, Demauri, Martinez Jr. (6 yrs), Martinez Jr. (5 yrs) and Mariana Payton, twins Lyric and Layla Fiske, and Amir Jones; and host of other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Thomas T.J. and Mildred Payton; brother, Ray Payton, and grandparents, Henry and Mary Ford. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Ten Fifty Eight Event Center, 1058 Cleveland Road, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
