Michael Jamal Capers

Michael Jamal Capers, 34, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 3, 2021 in Mercy Regional Medical Center emergency room. Michael was born March 8, 1987 in Lorain and was a lifelong resident. He attended Clearview High School and enjoyed basketball. Michael will be sadly missed by his children, Nizaiah Jamal Anderson, Makiyah Isjonae Thomas, Mekhi Michael Thomas and Malakhi William Thomas; his mother, Lula Mae Capers; brothers; Joseph Gaines, Michael Nieves Jr., Luke Tillman and Maurice Nieves; sisters, Angela Gaines, Sharon Capers, Tanita Capers, Tomika Capers-Armelin, Sharita Capers, Alisha Nieves and Monique Nieves; a host of other loving relatives. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Michael Leon Nieves; maternal grandparents; Arther L. and Lidy B. Gaines; and paternal grandparents, Manuel and Lavern Nieves. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM until time of family service at 12:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3900 Clifton Ave, Lorain Ohio 44055. with Pastor Bishop Peter Tower officiating. Interment will be Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required.
