Marquise DeShan Hollis

Marquise DeShan Hollis, 40, of Elyria, passed away July 28, 2023 in Mercy Regional Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1983 in Elyria, Ohio, and spent most of his life living in Lorain and Cleveland.
 
Marquise was known for being a comedian and making people laugh. He enjoyed watching sports and listening to music.
 
Marquise leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Courtney Hollis (née Smarr); his children, DaQuan, Cleonna, Iyonna, Sahvannah, Nathanuel, and Anthony; two grandchildren; his father and stepmother, David Sr. and Barbara Hollis; his maternal grandmother, Veronica Austin; his siblings, Chasidy, Andre, Terrence, Christopher, Ricky, David Jr., Davonna, Darius, Deanna, Devon, and Mitchell; an uncle, Clifton Frisby; an aunt, Melissa White; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
 
Marquise was preceded in death by his mother, Constance Frisby; a stepson, Morgan Smarr; his paternal grandparents, Willie and Luvenia Hollis, and maternal grandfather, Paul Austin.

Visitation will be Monday, August 7, 2023, from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM at God’s Kingdom, 423 Washington Ave, Lorain. Bishop Charles Howard will be officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
