Lola Jean Evans was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who transitioned to be with her Lord and Savior at 83 years old. Lola passed away in the loving arms of her husband on Saturday, June 18, 2022. She was born to her mother Anna Mae Chinn and father Arthur Chinn, in Lorain Ohio, on November 28, 1938. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, stepmother Dorothy Mae Jackson-Chinn, brother Eldon Chinn and sister Rosemary Chinn Betts. Lola retired from Lorain City Schools where she impacted so many. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Lola. She loved word searches, scrabble, card games, shopping, and most of all, time spent with her family. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. She was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Lorain, Ohio where her late grandfather Elijah Chinn was one of the founders. She had enjoyed singing in both the inspirational and gospel choruses. Lola will be deeply missed by her husband of 61 years Earl Edward Evans, daughters Rhonda White (Charles White) and Dawnyelle Huff (Eddie Huff), granddaughters Tameka Aldridge, Kiana Ammons and Ashley Evans, great-grandchildren Jaylene, Abiah and Brandon Jr., and a host of family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, June 27, 2022. A viewing will be from 10am until the time of service at 11am at Second Baptist Church, 300 W. 13th St, Lorain, OH 44052, with Pastor Loversier Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
