Lawrence “Larry” L. White, Sr., 68, of Lorain, passed away September 3, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 24, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio but spent most of his life in Oberlin, Ohio. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was honorably discharged in 1974. He was member of Call Out Church of the Almighty God in Elyria, Ohio. Lawrence was known for being a fisherman and a great cook and was a part of the Hot Pepper Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and doing his favorite dance, the ‘Stanky Leg.’ He is survived by his children, Lawrence White II, Eric White, La’Quenta Massey, Jehaun White, Rodney White, Da’Shawn Martin, Lawrence Partin, Damian Partin and Lawrence “Larry” Rardin; a host of grandchildren; his siblings, Ricky White, Keith White, Tyrone White, Gregory White, Karen White, Rita White, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frederick and Iris White; brothers, Frederick, Jr., Johnny White and Gene White who died in Vietnam, and a sister, Janet (White) Richmond. Viewing will be held Saturday, September 18th, from 9AM until time of service at 10AM at Call Out Church of the Almighty God, 7809 W River Rd S, Elyria. Burial will be at Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required.
