Katie Syrena Parks, 73, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday January 13, 2022 at EMH Regional Medical in Elyria. Katie was born in Harlan, Kentucky on April 11, 1948, to Peddy and Pauline Reynolds. In 1965, she graduated from Booker T Washington High School and eventually moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She worked at Ford Motor Company for 31 years, where she retired. Katie was a member of New Creation Baptist Church where she served on the Mothers Board, taught Sunday school, and was a part of the choir. She served her church family faithfully and lovingly until the time of her departure from this life. For her to live was Christ and to die was gain. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter: Nichelle Parks; grandchildren, Robert, Isaiah, and KayLynn Parks; brother, Peddy Reynold Jr; nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives. Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Peddy Reynolds Sr. and Pauline Reynolds; brothers, William Paul Reynolds and Benjamin Reynolds; a sister, Betty Reynolds, and a daughter, Michelle LeAnn Parks. A public walk-through viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Living Word Church, 2002 East 28th Street, Lorain. Pastor Marilyn Parker-Jeffries of New Creation Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst, Oh. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required.
