Jose Collins, 68, of Lorain, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Oaks Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on February 18,1954 in Lorain, Ohio. Jose attended Lorain High School. History was one of his favorite subjects. Jose also loved to keep up with current affairs and in the morning, he would be the first person in the house to pick up the Morning Journal. He would read the entire newspaper knelt on his knees with the sun light beaming through the living room door. His dream was to become a weatherman. Jose also enjoyed participating in daily workshops at the Murray Ridge Center. Jose spent a lot of his spare time making arts and crafts, he loved reading magazines and looking at illustrations and pictures. He also enjoyed painting, and he was a lover of all food and candy, he was a true foodie, and he enjoyed working out. He is survived by his mother, Esther Collins; 3 brothers, Milton, Michael, and Stanley Collins; 6 sisters, Glenda Yancey, Michele (Dennis) Boycik, Patricia (Anthony) Lumpkin, Tina Collins, Angela (Anthony) Fletcher, and Nicole Collins; 12 nieces and nephews; 7 great nieces and nephews; 3 great-great nieces and a host of other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Libison James Collins; paternal grandparents, Excell Sr. and Virgie Collins; maternal grandparents, Louis and Annie Williams; nephew, Israel Angel Arce, and brother-in-law, Norman Yancey. A public viewing will be from 11AM until the time of private family services at 12PM on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
