Jonathan P. Smith, Sr., 57, of Quincy, IL, formerly of Lorain County, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at his home. He was born April 9, 1964 in Lorain, Ohio where he had spent most of his life. He attended Admiral King High School and formerly worked at U.S. Steel. He also was a certified mechanic. He was a member of Living Word Church of Lorain. He enjoyed fishing, music, detailing cars, cooking and loved being a comedian. He is survived by his wife, Stacey N. Smith (nee Powell); his son, Jonathan Jr.; stepchildren, Alvin Wicker, Demarkus Powell, Ramae Ybarra, Ray Ortiz, Rita Ortiz, and Renna Ortiz; siblings, Janice Flint, Theresa Harris, Anita Davis, Benjamin Smith Jr., Francetta Smith-Bergerson, Michelle Wirts (Joseph), Angalia Smith-Lewis, Venus Smith-Williams, Joseph Smith (Lisa), Veronica Evans,Cynthia Larmar, Marshall Smith, andBenedwin L Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Benjamin Smith Sr and Eloise E Smith; brothers, Ronald Johnigan and Larry Johnigan; a sister, Linda Harris, and grandparents. A visitation will be held Saturday, September 11, from 12PM until time of service at 1PM at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required.
