Janice Mathis

Janice Mathis, 77, of Elyria, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.  She was born November 10, 1947, in Tampa, Florida, and had been a resident of Elyria, Ohio most of her life. 

Janice retired from EMH Regional Medical Center where she worked for many years as a nurse in the maternity ward. 

She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching movies on the Hallmark network. 

Janice will be missed by her children: Jocelyn Mathis of Pickerington, Christopher (Jennifer) Mathis of Elyria, and Darrell Woolbright of Orrville; her grandchildren: Brittany Arizmendi, Torec Thomas, Torianna Thomas, Brian Woolbright, Kandace Woolbright, David Woolbright, Kayla Woolbright, and Trinity Woolbright; and a host of great-grandchildren; her siblings: her brothers, Arthur (Bernice) Jenkins and Robert (Linda) Woolbright, both of Elyria, and her foster brother, Charles Johnson of Sheffield Lake; her family, and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Chester L.B. Woolbright, her mother, Juanita Woolbright, and a sister, Cynthia Mason. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home & Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053. A Life Celebrational Service will be held Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Ministries Christian Center, 1306 Euclid Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052. Services will be officiated by Pastors Tim and Deena Williams. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon, Ohio.
