It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Lionel Latten Sr., who departed this life on July 4, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on April 22, 1945, to Janie Latten (Mother) and James Lionel Summers (Father), James lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love. James was preceded in death by his Parents, Sister Joan Latten, and Son, Kenneth Latten Sr.
James served his country proudly with honor as a firefighter in the US Navy for three years, during which time he bravely served in Vietnam. His commitment and courage earned him an honorable discharge, a testament to his dedication and valor. Once he returned to the states, he began working at the Main Post Office in Cleveland, Ohio, within the Motor Vehicles Department for over 33 years until he retired in 2003. James began studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses where he was learning many Bible Truths.
James leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever. He leaves behind his beautiful wife Georgia Latten who he loved dearly. He is survived by his two devoted sisters, Janice Latten, and Judy Latten (Junior), who stood by him throughout his life. He is also remembered by his four beloved children: James Latten Jr., Lisa Latten, David Latten, and Kassandra Latten. And a host of extended family and friends. His legacy lives on in the lives of his children, who will continue to honor his memory and the values he instilled in them.
James Lionel Latten Sr. was a man of great character and strength, whose contributions to his family, his community, and his country will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace, knowing that his life made a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. We're looking forward to the day Jehovah God resurrects him to perfection.
