Jamar Damonte Malone

Jamar Damonte Malone, 47, of Lorain, passed away January 3, 2024 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain. He was born June 15, 1976, to Patricia Cheers and James Malone. Jamar will be remembered for his charisma, wittiness, and athleticism.

He pitched during the Little League World Series in the Cleveland Indians Stadium during his youth; he even had an in-the-park home run. Jamar was someone whose presence you appreciated and company you enjoyed. He was also very dependable; you could call him for just about anything. Jamar was an entrepreneur, working at his favorite establishment Mangine’s Cafe. He was a Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed watching the Browns, Cavs, and Indians. Some of his pastimes included playing a few numbers and enjoying time with his family and friends. He loved being around his children and grandchildren whom he adored. 

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter JaDasia Malone, his “Jimmy Dean” his sons Jamar “Juan Juan” Malone, Xavier “Buke” Malone, and Amare “Love” Malone; his stepchildren Reagan and Reshaun Rogers, Jaylon, Jerria, and Julius Rollins, and Ashley Thompson; his grandchildren Jakari Malone, Norielle Briggs, Atreus Croskey, Harmonee Otero, Azai Rogers, Emarius and Jordyn Rollins; sister Breanna Malone and grandmother Lucille Atwood.  He leaves behind a host of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Patricia Elaine Cheers and James “Long Money” Malone, maternal grandparents Ray and Resna (née Epps) Cheers, paternal grandmother Mary Malone (née Patton), aunts Beverly and Lisa Cheers and Kimberly Patton, uncles Michael “Ice Baby” Isom, and Guy and Mark Cheers.

A viewing will be held Friday, January 12, 2024, from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 Noon at Living Word Church, 2002 E. 28th Street, Lorain OH 44055.
