Gary K Huff, 60, of Lorain, Ohio, died Monday July 29, 2024, in the Cleveland Clinic after a lengthy illness. He was born December 11, 1963, in Lorain, Ohio where he resided until his death. He was a loving husband and an exceptional father.
Gary graduated from Lorain High School where he excelled as an athlete in multiple sports. He then attended Findley College where he played football for two years before suffering a serious injury. In 2016 he was inducted into the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of all his accomplishments.
He worked for several years as a truck driver for Del Lumber Company until its closing. He then found his calling to work at Murray Ridge School where he immensely enjoyed working as a teacher’s aide, mentor, and special friend to all of the kids.
He was a lifelong athlete and coached for nearly 30 years throughout Lorain County. He will truly be missed by his fellow coaches and players. These were “his kids” and he got immense pleasure watching them grow into adulthood.
Whether you knew him as Gary, Keity, or Coach, he will be sadly missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie B “Lady” Huff, and is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary L Huff (nee Santiago), his daughter Kaitlin A Huff, his brothers Kevin and Greg, nieces, nephews, and host of other loving family members.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home and Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Rd, Lorain OH 44053, where funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, August 8, 2024. His burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
