Esther Mae Baker, 96, of Lorain, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Oak Hills Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Baker was born August 17, 1927 in Huntsville, Alabama and has lived in Lorain, Ohio for most of her life. She graduated from Lorain High School and retired from the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain where she worked as a cook for many years. She was a member of Grace Gospel Hall in Lorain.
She enjoyed reading, bike riding, traveling, and watching television.
Esther M. Baker is survived by one daughter, Delaine Johnson; one grandson, Jeffery Keen; and other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Baker Jr.; her parents, Pastor John Broughsville and Rosie Broughsville (née Mastin).
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave, Lorain OH 44052. Her burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
