Eartha L. Mincy

Eartha L. Mincy, 61, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family, following a lengthy illness. She was born April 3, 1962 in Lorain and was a lifelong resident. Eartha attended Admiral King High School. After high school she worked as a STNA for over 40 years and 10 years at Oak Hills Nursing Home in Lorain. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, and watching crime movies. The joy of her life was spending precious time with her grandchildren and family. She is survived by five children, Lakisha Mincy (Will Bedell), Michael Mincy, Tiffany Mincy, Joseph Dampier Jr., and Tenia Mincy; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Willie (Julie) Mincy and John (Ernestine) Mincy; two sisters, Gwendolyn Mincy and Sheila (Michael) President; 4 aunts of Detroit Michigan, a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives. Eartha was preceded in death by her father, Willie Mincy Sr., mother, Lula Bell Ballard, a granddaughter, Sincere Lei Martin, and grandparents, James and Florence Hall. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Living Word Church, 2002 E. 28th St., Lorain, Ohio 44055. Following the service, a repass will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the Italian American Veterans Hall, 4567 Oberlin Ave, Lorain, Ohio 44053.
