Dorothy Mae Crawley (née Capers)

Dorothy Mae Crawley (née Capers), 69, of Columbus (formerly of Oberlin), passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 4, 2025, in Pickerington Methodist Hospital following a sudden illness. Dorothy was born January 24, 1956, in Lorain, and spent most of her life in Lorain County.

Dorothy retired from the dietary department of EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria, Ohio after 24 years of service. She enjoyed reading, cooking, dancing, bowling, and traveling.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her daughter, Josette (Shawn) Brown; her sons, Orenthal “OJ” (Lisa) Crawley, Robert Crawley, Jr., and Damien Crawley; her spouse, Robert Crawley, Sr.; 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; her siblings, Alfred (Dawn) Capers, Arthur (Zanna) Capers, Barbara Capers, Bobby Capers, Albert Capers, Alberta (Tyrone) Gibson, and Sandra Woolfork; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, D.W. Sr. and Lola Bell Capers; her brothers, Henry Capers and D.W. Capers, Jr.; her grandparents, Annie Harris and Henry Harris; nieces Danielle Capers and Crystal Capers; and nephews Raymond W. Smith III and Jimmy Holland Jr.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home & Celebration Center, 6075 Middle Ridge Rd., Lorain, OH 44053. Burial will be at Westwood Cemetery in Oberlin, OH.
