Donald Edward Adams, a former resident of Lorain, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on October 26,2022 in Buffalo, New York, where he has resided since 2005. He was affectionately known, in Lorain, by his nickname "Blue".Donald was a star basketball player at Lorain Admiral King High School during the early 1970's until his graduation in 1972. He was well known for his smooth moves and athletic abilities on the basketball court, and for his snappy attire and welcoming smile. He also served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1990. Donald was also an ardent baseball fan. In the early 2000's, he was very active as an Umpire with the Lorain City Parks Recreation Softball games. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, James T. Adams, Sr. and Geneva Adams; his siblings, Nanie Adams and James T. Adams, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Julius Richards.Donald is survived by his beloved daughter, J'Nise Adams of Brandon, FL; his sisters, Bonnie Copeland, Gillie Richards, Ramona Adams-Franklin (Dennis) of Buffalo, NY; his brother, Gerald Adams, Sr. (Gloria) of Odessa FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews.Viewing will be Saturday, November 12,2022 from 10:30 AM until time of funeral service at 11:30 AM at God’s Believers in Christ Church, 520 W. 22nd Street, Lorain, Ohio; The Rev. James L. Williams to officiate.
