Denise D. Seymore

On September 17, 2021, our beautiful Denise passed away unexpectedly in her Las Vegas, NV home. She was born June 15, 1964 in Philadelphia, PA but raised in Lorain, OH where she received her education from Lorain City Schools and the Gerald R Ford Job Corps Center in Grand Rapids, MI. Nearly 30 years ago, Denise moved to the West Coast where she was heavily involved in non-profit work. She later moved to Las Vegas where she continued to care for the disabled. She also worked with Crazy Cats Cleaning Services. She remained in Las Vegas until her untimely death. Denise enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life like music and dancing, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She often opened her door to anyone in need. Her favorite song was “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge. Her pleasant personality and beautiful smile were contagious to everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved and knew her best. Her survivors include two daughters, Deondra Johnson of Chicago, IL and Mira Percival of Phoenix, AZ; sons, Jeremy and Gianni Percival both of Phoenix, AZ. Denise is also survived by her pride and joy, her grandson Axel. Her memory will also be cherished by her mother, Lillian Seymore, her five sisters, Cynthia Diane, Gloria Fay, Barbara Ann, Angie “Nena” and Tammy; brothers, Vincent, George “Mayne”, Scott and Randy, two godbrothers, Michael and Stevie Harrison, her aunts Ora Williams, and Helen Seymore along with a host of nieces and nephews. While in Vegas, she was surrounded by extended family members who also mourn her passing; her dear friends Adrien, Laurence “Doc”, Julie and DeWanna “Byrd”. She is preceded in death by her father, George Homer Seymore, Jr; her grandmother, Eloid Seymore; aunts Leola Calhoun, and Barbara Ann Hinton, uncles Larry Seymore, Dwight Seymore and Clinton Calhoun Jr. Due to Covid-19 a walk-through visitation will be held Saturday October 9th at Living Word Church 2002 E. 28th Street, Lorain, OH 44055 at 10:00am followed by a private memorial service for the family beginning at 11:00am. Masks are required for everyone-no exceptions.
