Delores Inez Jackson passed away at the age of 81 on Sunday October 30, 2022, at home, following a lengthy illness. She was born January 22, 1941, in Hammond, Louisiana and lived in Lorain for over 50 years. Delores was a faithful member of Greater St. Matthew A.M.E. Church in Lorain where she served on the usher board and was the president of the usher board. She was a stewardess, and she sang in the senior choir. She retired from U.S. Steel after 30 years of service as a pipe grinder and a pipe inspector. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing lottery, bingo, and going to the casino. She had a great passion for working out in her yard. She was very particular about how the grass was cut and how the hedges were shaped. Delores leaves to cherish her memory and will be sadly missed by her two children, Janice Reynolds, and Walter James Jr., 7 grandkids, 14 great grandkids, and 1 great-great grandkid, one brother, Melvin Ricks, two sisters, Shirley Kelly and Betty Rhymes, and a host of other loving relatives. She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Jackson, grandson Marquell James, her parents, Eddie Lee Ricks and Inez Ricks, five brothers, Willie Sims, Charles Ricks, Herman Ricks, Horace Ricks, Milton Ricks, and one sister, Yvonne Taylor. Viewing will be Friday, November 11, 2022 from 11 am until time of funeral service at 12 am at Greater St. Matthew A.M.E. Church, 1909 W. 24th St, Lorain OH 44052. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
