David James Turner, 57, of Lorain, passed away October 4, 2022 unexpectedly at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. He was born February 1, 1965 in Lorain where he was a lifelong resident. At the time of his passing, David was employed at Seidman Cancer Center and Cleveland Clinic as a security officer. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians (Guardians) sports fan. He also enjoyed watching movies and singing. One of Dave’s mottos was “work harder to get better.” He attended Cathedral of Praise Worship Center in Lorain. David is survived by his children, Maxwell Turner, Taylor Turner, Malachi Turner, Olivia Kidd-Turner, Aaliyah Kidd-Turner, Prince David Casner, Applelonia Marie Casner, Spartacus Xavier Casner, and King David Turner; his grandchildren, Willow Turner and Riley Matthew Henriquez; his father, James (GoMan) Morries; his siblings, Apostle Brenda Turner-Franklin, Renee Bramley, Evangelist Faith Hairston, Jeannette Byrom, Wanda Marie Blount, Terry Morries, Franke Morries, Dr. Rhonda Jean Morries, Dr. Bud James Morries, and Sonny Morries; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; his mother, Evangelist Liza B Morries; his twins in infancy by Remy Martell; a brother, James Turner; sisters, Lynette Turner, Selina Shavers, Sarah Turner-Black and Linda Turner-Cobbs. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 11am until time of service at 12 noon at Cathedral of Praise Worship Center, 4545 Elyria Ave, Lorain, OH 44055 with Pastor, Bishop Melvin Brown officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
