David Tyrone Gage

David Tyrone Gage, 68, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, May 15, 2023.

He was born on July 27, 1954, to parents Willa Mae and Eddie Gage Sr. He was a longtime resident of Lorain and graduated from Southview High School. Tyrone was always a hard worker and retired from Ford Motor Company with 30 years of service.

Tyrone was an avid Cleveland sports fan, whether it was the Browns, Cavaliers, or Guardians and you could always find him enjoying a game or two with friends. His other favorite past time was playing spades with family and friends and would welcome all to the table to get beat.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 43 years, Gloria Gage (Weatherington); four children: daughters Latoya (Cass) Spraggins, Tomekea (Mark Francis), Tiawauna (Michael) Brown, and his only son David (Michelle) Weatherington; brothers Larry and DeWayne Gage, both of Lorain; sisters Vivian Phillips and Annette Echols, both of Lorain. He is blessed with 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He also is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Tyrone was preceded in death by his parents Willa Mae and Eddie Gage Sr., sister Jacqueline Gage, Jeanette Payne, and brothers George and Eddie Gage Jr.

Viewing will be Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1516 E. 30th St., Lorain.
