Dave Conway, Sr. passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Dave was born to the union of William and Catheree Conway on November 23, 1952, in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. However, he lived most of his life in Sandusky, Ohio.
Dave graduated from Sandusky High School in 1972. Throughout his life he worked various jobs. He worked his teen years at Cedar Point, and later worked at Radisson Hotel as a cook. He also worked at Ferrell Cheeks Steel Foundry, Sandusky Folding Box, O-P Craft Company, and Affiliated Environmental Services. He spent over 20 years working for Erie County Maintenance Division and retired from there in 2020.
Dave was a chef in his own right; he loved to cook. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He had a million dollar smile with the unforgettable “Conway dimples”. He was the family entertainer. He was also a giver with a big heart. Dave loved his family and his family loved him, and he will be deeply missed
Dave was preceded in death by his father, William Conway; brothers, Jimmy Conway, William “Dune” Conway, Jr., and Willie Conway. He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Lois Z. Boggs of Casa Grande, Arizona; a son, Dave Conway, Jr. of Sandusky, Ohio; a loving mother, Catheree Conway of Lorain, Ohio; 3 brothers, Charles Conway of Lorain, Ohio; Rayburn (Sheng) Conway of Amherst, Ohio; and Early (Trudy) Conway of Dayton, Ohio; 4 sisters, Linda (Vernon) Floyd of Elyria, Ohio; Patricia Berry, Janice Neal and Pearl (Steve) Bush, all of Lorain, Ohio; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave, Lorain, OH 44052. Final resting place will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 44805 North Ridge Rd, Amherst, OH 44001. Supt. Ross Johnson, Pastor of Mt. Zion COGIC of Sandusky, will officiate the services.
