Charles Eric Compas, of Lorain, joined the heavenly band on March 6, 2022. He was born April 15, 1969, in Akron, Ohio to Charles J. and Carrie M. Compas. However, Charles lived his entire life in Lorain. Eric attended Lorain City Schools from Head Start through Admiral King High School, graduating in 1987. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed for four years at Fort Irwin, California, where he spent his entire tour of duty. He returned home in 1992 and in December of that year he was employed by Ford Motor Co. in Avon. Eric loved flashy clothes and flashy cars and had both. He was a sports fan and had a passion for basketball and football. His favorite thing was taking vacations in Las Vegas and did so often. Eric was a member of New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and attended weekly as a child and through his teenage years. Eric is survived by his daughter, India (Terrence) Moultry and three grandchildren, Aalyah, Amad and Amari; his parents, Charles and Carrie; a sister, Camille; nephew, Christopher and niece, Courtney; two grand nephews, Christian and Camryn; and best friends Toni Sealey, Shelia Johnson, and Keith Watson. He had a very large family and many, many other friends. A walk-through viewing will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 10AM until time of private family services at Noon at New Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 2340 Crehore St., Lorain, OH 44052. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required.
