Charles E. McIntosh, Sr., 82, of Elyria, passed away June 30, 2022 at Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin.
He was born December 18, 1939 in Pinola, Mississippi to the union of David and Hattie (née Walker) McIntosh. He was a resident of Lorain County since 1960. He was a former member of New Hymn Baptist Church in Mississippi.
Charles retired from the Elyria Foundry after more than 40 years of service. One of his proudest achievements was having perfect attendance during his years of work at the foundry as a #2 Core Finisher. Charles also enjoyed fishing, watching sports, old comedy shows, and spending time with family and friends.
Charles is survived by his four children, Edward Marvin McIntosh (Karen), Jerry McIntosh (Penny), Phyllis Thompson, and Charles E. McIntosh, Jr.; a stepson, Terry Nelson; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Clarence McIntosh; three sisters, Dorothy Fleming, Ora Lee McIntosh and Peggy McIntosh; other loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and family.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne McIntosh; a daughter, Darla McIntosh; his parents, David and Hattie (née Walker) McIntosh; his brothers, Marvin and Daryl McIntosh; sisters, Mary Joyce Wilson, Maxine Hollins, Ruby Jean Carter, Jerry Taylor and half-sisters Lottie Morris and Ivanell Mandy.
A viewing will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 from 10AM until time of funeral service at 11AM at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home 2652 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
