Carl Eugene Johnson Jr

Carl Eugene Johnson Jr., 68, of Lorain, passed away at the Life Care Center of Elyria on November 11, 2024, from a lengthy illness. He was born on November 20, 1955, to Carl Eugene Sr. and Doris Johnson (née Rice) in Lorain, Ohio.

Carl was baptized in February 2010 and was a faithful servant for the Lord as a Deacon at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Carl believed and loved the Lord and would give his testimony to anyone and everywhere he went.

Carl was an avid bingo player and a huge sports fan who loved boxing and basketball. He loved watching western television shows and listening to music. 

Sadly, Deacon Carl leaves behind his three daughters to cherish his memory, Laura (Jarvis) Perkins (née Johnson), Jaycee Martell (née Johnson), and Shanta Shannon. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Carl was preceded in death by both of his parents, Carl Eugene Sr. and Doris Johnson (née Rice), and his brother, Jimmie Lee Johnson.

Family visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 3880 Dayton Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052, where Rev. Tyrone Holley, Pastor, will officiate the service. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Lorain.
