On December 31st, 1951, Bill Holland was born to Maggie Bell and Justin Holland in Elyria, Ohio. He was the second born of five children. Known as Billy by his close family and friends, and was mostly seen to be happy, go luck, and fun loving.
Billy possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, likely inherited from his beloved mother whom he cherished deeply. He engaged in various things to make a living, but it was in the 70s when he set his sights on California. Invited by his cousins who had already moved there, he ventured west, in pursuit of happiness and prosperity. California became his home for a number of years, and he found his calling in the insurance business.
After leaving California, Billy returned briefly to Ohio before eventually settling in Huntsville, Alabama. It was there that Bill met his wife, Ladoris Drake. Billy embraced his faith, was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church of Huntsville Alabama.
After living a full life, Bill began his battle with cancer with his loving wife by his side. He valiantly faced his battle with cancer until the end. On Monday, May 15th, 2023, surrounded by the comforts of his home in Avon Lake, Ohio, Billy passed away, entering eternal rest.
He is preceded in death by his mother Maggie B. Brown and his father Justin Holland. He is survived by his wife Ladoris Holland, his children Tammy (Renee) Maxwell, Billy Jr. (Beth) Holland, Melissa Holland, Brandi (Darius) Woods, Erin Holland, and Leslie Holland, his stepchildren Carmalitta Jordan and Bobby Sledge Jr., his siblings Michael Holland, Karen Holland, Paul Holland, Lisa (Lonney) Carr, William (Renata) Drake, Patricia (Rudy) Williams, Deloris Lynch and a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to our Beloved Bill Holland, who absence leaves an undoubted void in our lives. His memory shall be cherished.
