Betty Louise Crooks

Betty Louise Crooks, 88, of Lorain, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Avon, Ohio, following a brief illness. She was born February 1, 1935 in Morgantown, West Virginia. Betty graduated from Monongalia High School where she was a majorette, cheerleader, and homecoming queen. She loved listening to blues, dancing, playing cards, doing puzzles, playing Pokeno and spending time with family. Betty is survived by her daughters Vicky Perry, of Lorain, Brenda Smith, of Elyria, sons Gregory Crooks, of Rome, Georgia, Shawn Crooks and Jame Crooks Jr, both of Lorain, 25 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughters Afedella Crooks, son Larry Crooks Sr., parents Anna and Charles Brooks Sr., sisters Florence and Fern Brooks, and brother Charles Brooks Jr.Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Living Word Church, 2002 E. 28th Street, Lorain. Burial be at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
