Betty Jo Fluker, 82, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of December 07, 2022 surrounded by family. Betty was born Wednesday, January 31, 1940 to Richard & Rachel Taylor. Betty was born in Williamson, West Virginia as the 10th child of 16 children. Betty moved to Lorain, Ohio at a young age and was here until the time of her passing. Betty was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church, as she was on the Mother’s Board and part of Eastern Star. Betty worked at Family Service, Tile Supply, and Ford Motor Company, retiring after 27 years. On September 5, 1993 Betty married the love of her life Tommy Fluker. Betty & Tommy were married for 29 years with a lot of memories and love that will forever be! Betty’s favorite thing to do was watching tv, and she loved sports, especially the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Cavaliers. Betty loved going to church, talking on the phone, and going out to eat to get her ‘Catfish Fried Hard’ with a Diet Coke. Betty was a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Friend & a God Fearing Woman! Betty’s favorite saying was “We Just Going To Pray For Them”. Betty leaves to cherish her memory and will be sadly be missed by her husband of 29 years, Tommy Fluker of Sheffield Lake, OH, 5 children, Joe (Kandace) Ivey of Elyria, OH, Al (Michele) Ivey of Elyria, OH, Quanda Perry of Elyria, OH, Michelle Jones of Lorain, OH and Kelly (Pamela) Ivey of Louisville, KY; 2 stepsons, Tommy Jr. (Stacey) Fluker of Locust Fork, AL and SenJon (Megan) Vann of Farmington Hills, MI; 3 brothers, James Taylor of Lorain, OH, Leonard (Joyce) Taylor of Elyria, OH and Harold Taylor of Champlin, MN; 2 sisters, Rachel Goodwin of Lorain, OH and Velma Kimbro of Elyria, OH; special granddaughter Selena Merrick of Elyria, OH; 1 fur grandson (Quincy) and 1 special niece, Meiya Simmons-Booker of Canal Winchester, OH; 32 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Joyce Ivey, her parents Richard & Rachel Taylor, her siblings Jerline, Robert, Lillian, Hattie, Richard, Carolyn, Carl, Carol, Riley, and Douglas and her best friend Mrs. Ida Doss. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Living Word Church, 2002 E. 28th St, Lorain. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park in Avon.
