Betty Folmar

Betty Folmar, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Lorain. She was born in Luverne, Alabama and spent most of her life in Lorain. She worked as a sale’s associate at Kline’s Department store for nearly 10 years. Betty also worked in the healthcare field for many years, which helped prepare her to take care of her mother. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Lorain. Betty loved gardening, music, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. Betty is survived by her daughter, Chavella Cole of Elyria; grandson Levon Cole Jr; great-grandchildren Breanna and Tevin Cole; great-great grandchildren Arien James and Cole and Amia George; twin brother Billie Folmar (Lois), and was a dear aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Folmar and Lucille Folmar (nee Harris); husband Thomas McKay; brother Willie Folmar; sister-in-law Nancy Folmar and son-in-law Levon Cole Sr. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
