Barbara Ann McKinney

Barbara Ann McKinney, 76, of Lorain, passed away January 15, 2025, in New Life Hospice, following a sudden illness. She was born April 9, 1948, in Lorain, Ohio where she has been a lifelong resident. 

Barbara retired from The Nord Center where she was a Group Home Supervisor for many years. She was a faithful member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Lorain. She enjoyed singing and spending time with her grandchildren.  

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 55 years, Rev. Henry McKinney; three sons, Martin McKinney, Matthew McKinney, and Joshua (Aeisha) McKinney; two daughters, Roslyn McKinney and Denise McKinney; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Keith Lee and Earnest “Ricky” (Judy) Lee Jr; four sisters, Sharon Wright, Sandra Thomas, Betty Lee, and Jacquelyn (Terry) Hopkins; and a host of other loving relatives, and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Aslee Lee; two brothers, Ray Lee and Mark Lee; and two stepchildren, Dedra “DeeDee” Lynn McKinney and Bruce McKinney. 

Visitation will be held Friday, February 7, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until time of her funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1516 East 30th Street, Lorain Ohio 44055.
