Arneatha E. Young-Shannon

Arneatha Elaine Young-Shannon, of Elyria, transitioned on June 11, 2022. She was born to Elijah Young Sr. and Rosa Drummer-Young on July 2, 1973 in Sheffield Lake, Ohio. She graduated from Brookside High School where she participated in marching band, basketball, and was crowned Ms. Debutane. She continued her education at the University of Akron. Arneatha obtained her Bachelors of Business Management from Lorain County Community College, and continued her education at Hondros College of Business where she received her realtor license. She was a faithful member at iMPACT International Ministries. Arneatha wore many hats, but being a professional realtor was her passion. She loved being "your favorite realtor" and was also a housing counselor at the Lorain County Urban League. Outside of helping others, she enjoyed shopping, going to the casino, traveling, and being a Nani. Arneatha, also known as Bookie, leaves behind a wonderful husband, William Shannon Sr.; three beautiful children, Tyree (Kandance), Akacia, and Raven; along with three step children; William Jr (Randi), Deja, and Devon. Her grandchildren, Isabella, Vanessa, Ki' Ryn, William III, and Mae, were the lights of her life and she leaves all of her love inside of them. She also leaves behind her siblings Queen Ella Young-Wyatt and Elijah Young Jr, along with a plethora of in-laws, god-children, and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Elijah Young Sr. and Rosa Drummer-Young. A homegoing service will be held Monday, June 20, 2022, with viewing from 10a.m. until time of service at 11a.m. at The Church on the North Coast, 4125 Leavitt Road, Lorain OH 44053.
