Alice V. Jackson passed away January 16, 2024, at the age of 76, in Spencer, Ohio, following a lengthy illness. She was born to the late Rev. Willie B. Battle and Viola Mastin on August 10, 1947, in Huntsville, Alabama. She was one of nine children. Her family migrated from Huntsville, Alabama in 1957 to Lorain, Ohio. She attended Clearview Local Schools. She worked for Vermillion Valley Plaza at the Ohio Turnpike, Joseph and Sise, and Beech Brook Foster Facility for 37 years. She was an avid member of the Wellington Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Lee Jackson; her parents; and brother, Harry Battle Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: sister, Irene Battle-Carter (James), brother, Willie Battle Jr. (Peggy), sister, Glenda Battle-Foster (Johnny), sister, Cpt. Florida Battle, Chaplin USN, brother, Rev. Ernest Battle (Lavenia), sister, Sylvia Battle-Young (Robert), and brother, Joe Martin; her children: Tommie Jackson Jr., Ernest J. Jackson (Samantha), Ereck Jackson (Cassandra), Marcus, Todd Smith, Desmond Kellom (Brenda), Willie Moncrief, Anthony and Ruby Campbell, Demetrius Jefferies, Jackquan and Samone, Donte Edwards and Dontez Edwards (Jeannie), Jesse Jackson, Chadley Pugh (Crystal), Latesha Witherspoon, Merrissa Shanahan (James), Crystal Murray, and many more; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and other loving family and dear friends. Alice was a warm, kind, and loving person who had a love for singing, caring for kids, and working in her yard. She was an advocate for uniting family together, like when she hosted the Tommie Lee Annual Campout. She was beautiful inside and out and was there for anyone and everyone with arms open wide. She never saw the negative aspect in a person. She was the only woman born that could handle Tommie Lee Jackson, her soulmate, her life partner, her one and only love.
Alice, when she was healthy, her love for baking brought many smiles to those who tried her cakes, pies, and other goodies. She was always dressed in a fashionable classy style, always dressed in the latest clothes, jewelry, and hair; always groomed to a tee. SHE WAS VERY SWANK!
