Alejandra Marisol Valentin, aka “Ali,” was born in Elyria, Ohio on March 24, 1998. She departed this life on March 20th, 2024, in Toledo, Ohio, at the University of Toledo Hospital following complications that arose after receiving a kidney transplant. Ali had battled lupus since the age of 15.
Alejandra was preceded in death by her great grandparents Sixto and Julia Garcia, grandparents Margaret and Albert Edwards, uncle Pete Garcia, cousins Andrew Kamfolt, Petie Garcia, and Justin Torres.
Alejandra graduated from Perkins High School in Sandusky, Ohio in 2016 and was an outstanding student. She attended Kent State University and went on to earn an Associate of Science degree from Firelands College in Huron, Ohio. Ali loved to dance and took lessons in a variety of types of dances at the Moving Company and BPAC in Sandusky, Ohio.
Before Ali fell ill, she enjoyed gymnastics, swimming, and roller blading. Ali loved music and singing and took singing lessons with recording artist Jeanette Harvey. She loved watching Korean dramas and reading. Ali had a passion for life and loved to make others laugh. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Alejandra leaves behind her grandparents Miguel Valentin (Rosa), parents Michelle McKinney (Dorian) and Erwin Edwards, her sisters Chealsea Tucker, Ashley Edwards, Tamaya Edwards, and her brothers Erwin Edwards Jr., and Duane Edwards, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation hours will be Friday, March 29, 2024, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 1814 Milan Rd, Sandusky, Ohio. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 11:00am, at God’s Kingdom, 423 Washington Ave, Lorain, Ohio; Bishop Charles Howard is officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Ohio.
